Recover for Life
Recovery for Life
FRANKLIN COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH + AMÉLIE CO.
Franklin County was hit hard by the opioid epidemic—made even worse by the COVID pandemic. And residents were dying to recover. What the community needed was a different perspective on addiction. One that looked at addition as a disease, not a choice. We created a campaign that shifted perspectives and helped residents recover to save their lives and stay in recovery for life.
Recovery from addiction deserves its own symbol; one that communicates the very real journey someone goes through. For that reason, a flower with thorns became our campaign symbol. Why? Because recovery means growing as a person. It means going through serious hardship. It means letting support in as well as being supportive. It means finding hope and knowing that hope will always bloom. Our symbol perfectly represents the imperfect journey to recovery.
People’s stories and perspectives are an important part of recovery. We created animated versions to encapsulate their journeys and garner not only impressions but empathy.
We wanted to change the conversation surrounding addiction by addressing the stigmas on social media.
To launch the campaign, we put up a wallscape to build awareness and created a community mural where residents shared messages of encouragement and promises to help people heal. People were able to come together (in a covid-safe way) to fight addiction.
Franklin County residents also needed the support and resources to beat addiction. All of our campaign assets brought people to FranklinCountyRecovers.com to learn more about the disease of addiction and encourage them to take the first step in their recover journey.
